Radco Roofing completed a 54,000 square foot roof recovery for a healthcare facility in Wilmington, North Carolina. The result: a high-performance commercial roofing system built for long-term protection without disrupting the facility’s ongoing medical operations.
The project featured the installation of Carlisle SynTec’s VacuSeal® vent-secured roof system. It was selected for its ability to protect the building’s conditioned interior environment, limiting exposure to climate fluctuations and the potential for debris intrusion.
Coastal North Carolina’s shifting wind conditions were a unique challenge for this installation. The VacuSeal system uses a vented design that relies on wind-induced pressure differentials to help secure the roof assembly. Variable winds can complicate installation, but consistent airflow is also what drives the system’s long-term performance.
Rather than a full tear-off and reroof, Radco used a recover approach. Keeping the existing roof system in place cut landfill waste, controlled costs and reduced disruption for the facility’s staff and patients.
From planning through completion, this project highlights Radco Roofing’s expertise in executing complex healthcare roof recovery projects with precision, reliability and a focus on long-term building performance, all while the facility remained operational.
